Getaround

Getaround is a peer-to-peer and app-based car sharing service that let people rent nearby cars by the hour or day, unlocking them with a phone, but its status has changed significantly. The company ended its US operations in February 2025, citing liquidity challenges, and in 2026 its European business, which served countries including France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Norway and Austria, was combined with Danish car-sharing company GoMore. The deal announcement said there would be no immediate changes for users and partners, but the longer-term branding and app plans were not detailed, and the parent company has since announced a plan to dissolve and liquidate.
